+ How do I store my clay Pawkits?
Your Spawts Pawkits should always be stored at room temperature. Find a cupboard or shelf space away from sunlight and any heat/cold sources. Once you've taken an impression, continue to store the clay at room temperature. When you receive new clay Pawkits from us, place these at the back of your Pawkit inventory so you are sure to use your oldest clay first.
+ Does a Pawkit expire?
While your Pawkit doesn't expire, the clay will grow dry and firm over time. To keep your clay fresh and easiest to use, always be sure to use your oldest clay first. Check on your clay every 45 days and add 1 tsp of water to the clay surface for any clay that has become more firm than you'd like. Seal the bag and let stand for 8 hours to resoften the clay.
+ How do I get more clay ordered?
When we mail back your completed orders, we will include the same number of fresh clay Pawkits as you sent us. This ensures you always keep fresh clay on hand. If you'd ever like to increase your inventory, contact us and we'll mail additional clay to you within 1 business day.
+ How do I get an XL Spawt?
Whether you have a large dog paw that is filling up the clay disc or would just like to have a slightly larger keepsake to showcase the coloured glaze, we can turn any impression into an XL Spawt. Simply write 'XL Spawt' in the Special Instructions line of the order card and we'll turn that Spawt into a 4" diameter keepsake instead of the regular 3.5" diameter.
+ How can I order multiple impressions?
There are two ways to order multiple standard impressions (Original or Fur Match/Custom Colour Spawts). If you take different impressions in multiple clay Pawkits, we will complete each impression as a finished keepsake. You can also take just one impression and include multiple order cards in the one Pawkit bag, one order card for every completed keepsake you'd like returned. We will then cast this original impression to make the desired number of duplicate impressions with the same depth and texture of the original.
+ How do I order a Spawts exclusive?
Our urns, mugs, cups and candle votives are all available to your clinic at wholesale pricing! Regardless of the type and quantity of keepsakes your client would like, it all starts with you taking a single clay impression.
See our 'Shop' page to view available colours for each product. Then use the Special Instructions line on your order card to list the quantity, product and colour for each exclusive you'd like made (e.g. "+1 Mug- Blossom"). Leave the colour and display option checkboxes blank on the order card.
If a client would like both an Original Spawt and an exclusive (or multiple exclusives), please fill out one order card for each keepsake you'd like made. Place all order cards in the single Pawkit bag.
+ How do I take a great impression?
For clinic staff not familiar with taking paw prints, we're here to help get you started. First, have a look at our how-to video with tips for pets both big and small. If you have questions, we're just a phone call or email away. We can even schedule a virtual demo to introduce Spawts to your team and share our years of experience.
+ What do you mean by ‘variations in colour will occur’?
Our keepsakes feature natural glazes that are reactive, which means they are intended to produce colour variations in the kiln firing. It’s one more way your Spawts keepsake is truly one-of-a-kind!
+ When is the best time to share Spawts with a client?
Spawts are here to celebrate every step of life. Many clinics share information about Spawts at puppy/kitten first visits or at the time of spaying/neutering. When it comes time to say goodbye, most clients will be looking for a way to honour their beloved pet. Your clinic staff will know when it's most appropriate to share Spawts as a memorial option but you may consider sharing a brochure before the time of euthanasia so that your client has time to consider what they would like to have specially made.
+ I have a different clay kit/material we already use in house, can we have that made into a Spawts keepsake?
Yes! If you have another casting material that you already use to take impressions in house, we can cast that and turn it into any of our Spawts products.
